Limone Piemonte is the most renowned holiday resort in the Cuneo mountains. Born and grown over time as a ski resort, in recent times Limone has also equipped itself with respect to summer attendance, with proposals linked above all to outdoor activities, with particular reference to mountain biking. A museum is dedicated to ski, collecting numerous relics and recalling the exploits of a series of personalities who have left their mark on the evolution of winter sports in the upper Vermenagna Valley resort.

But Limone is not just skiing, it is a town whose centuries-old history is closely linked to the passage of armies and caravans across one of the most important passes in the entire Alpine chain, the Colle di Tenda. The main testimony to its ancient splendour is the parish church of San Pietro, a fine example of medieval architecture, with 15th-century frescoes inside.
